The idea
The Ognyan Radev Ancient Theatre connects the world of antiquity with contemporary life through theatre, education, and cultural heritage. Inspired by the legacy of classical philologist and theatre director Ognyan Radev, the group brings ancient texts, ideas, and forms of expression to modern audiences. Each performance is an invitation to discover how the questions of the ancient world remain meaningful today.
The people
Behind the Ognyan Radev Ancient Theatre is a diverse team of actors, directors, philologists, historians, designers, musicians, and cultural professionals. Many of its members are former students and collaborators inspired by Ognyan Radev’s work, joined by artists and specialists who share a passion for antiquity and the performing arts. Together, they create performances that combine artistic expression, research, and education.
